William Gilbert is an exceptional Church of England Primary School, where differences between people are nurtured and valued. Our school community is committed to providing high quality education and holistic development for every child. We are proud of our supportive and collaborative culture, which enables both staff and pupils to flourish.
We are located in the large village of Duffield, five miles north of Derby, in the picturesque world heritage site of the Derwent Valley with the Peak District on our doorstep.
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to begin their career in a supportive and dynamic setting. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to providing the best possible education for our pupils, will work closely with experienced colleagues to develop their teaching practice, and will be supportive of the Christian ethos of our school.
Ideally we are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner to work in KS2. However, we will consider the experience and skills of the teacher and have the flexibility to negotiate the key stage for the right candidate.
We are looking for individuals who will:
- Demonstrate high expectations and standards for all children
We require a staff member who will:
- Care for our children
- Engage positively with parents/carers
- Be fully supportive of our school ethos
- Fully adopt and adhere to William Gilbert policies and practices
- Provide exemplary provision to support and enrich children’s learning experiences
- Join in the wider life of our wonderful school community
We can offer you:
- Well behaved, respectful children who delight in learning and are happy coming to school
- On-going development opportunities, to challenge and support you professionally
- A supportive senior leadership team, committed to your success
- A dedicated, friendly school staff, committed to school improvement
- Supportive governors, parents and parish community
- A strong Christian ethos, which is welcoming to all faiths or none
The staff at William Gilbert are a committed and collegial school team, who are well supported by the Senior School Leaders and Governors. Throughout the school we have the pleasure of engaged children – who demonstrate excellent learning attitudes – and families, who are committed to working in partnership with us.
Our website – www.williamgilbertend.derbyshire.sch.uk gives a flavour of the life and work at our school. If you think that you would like to be part of William Gilbert School and are excited by the opportunities that a Class Teacher role would offer, we would very much welcome your application.
