Nurture Teacher – Derby Cathedral School
Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable students and helping them build strong literacy foundations?
Derby Cathedral School is seeking a dedicated Nurture Teacher to join our thriving community. This exciting role would also be ideal for an experienced secondary or primary teacher looking to apply their skills in a secondary setting while making a significant difference to students who need additional support to reach their full potential.
What we’re looking for:
We need someone who can:
- Provide a specialised nurture curriculum for younger or vulnerable students who need additional literacy support to become “secondary ready”
- Develop and deliver effective reading intervention programs using diagnostic assessment
- Build strong relationships with students in line with our relational approach, instilling a sense of belonging within our school community
- Plan and teach core curriculum subjects (primarily English) to small groups requiring additional support
- Monitor academic progress and implement appropriate strategies to address any underachievement
This role perfectly suits secondary teachers with relevant experience or primary teachers with experience in literacy development who are looking for a new challenge in a supportive secondary environment. Your primary expertise in building fundamental skills will be invaluable in helping our students transition successfully to secondary education.
