Job outline

We are looking for an experienced General Kitchen Assistant to join our school kitchen team. You will be required to assist the Catering Manager in helping to prepare and serve our freshly cooked, nutritious meals, providing a high quality service to staff and children. You will also assist in preparing for service, and cleaning up afterwards. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in an independent busy kitchen environment and inspiring our children in making healthy eating choices. The successful candidate will have experience working in a commercial kitchen, with training in food hygiene; ideally they will be qualified to NVQ level 2.

We are a large 625 place primary (which includes 32 children in our 2 year old unit and 60 in our 3 year old nursery), with a rich ethnic mix of delightful and well-behaved children. Our modern school has been refurbished and extensively extended and sits in large attractive grounds. We pride ourselves in our caring ethos and the value we place in our dedicated and friendly staff teams. We are a popular school, and have a waiting list for most year groups.
