About Us

Derby Cathedral School, part of the Derby Diocesan Academy Trust (DDAT), is the first Church of England Secondary School in the Diocese. Since opening in 2018, we have grown into a thriving learning community, now accommodating over 1,200 students from Years 7 to 13. The Role

As a Pastoral Year Lead, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ well-being and personal development. Working closely with the Head of Year and wider pastoral staff, you will ensure a positive school experience for all students, particularly those facing challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and supporting student behaviour, attendance, and progress.
  • Providing care and guidance to students, including those with SEND, Child Protection concerns, and Looked After Children.
  • Building strong relationships with students, parents, and external agencies to foster a supportive environment.
  • Promoting the school’s FAITH values and ensuring a positive culture for learning.
  • Leading aspects of collective worship and contributing to pastoral interventions.
  • Supporting restorative conversations and conflict resolution among students.
